Sean Tetlow of The Colour Room has reason to celebrate this week, having learned that, once again, he has been finalised in the 2012 British Hairdressing Awards, giving him the opportunity to retain the title of Regional Hairdresser of the Year that he won in the awards last year.

Sean says “It was such a great feeling, but also a massive relief to receive the letter saying that I had reached the finals of the British Hairdressing Awards for 2012. After winning my title last year, the pressure was really on the replicate that success by producing another great photographic collection of hair images to submit as my entry for the awards. And I’m thrilled that the judges decided I deserved a place in the finals again this year.”

Sean’s finalist status brings to six the total number of national awards he and his team have been nominated for this year. The Colour Room has been finalised for three separate awards in the British Hairdressing Business Awards – “Salon of the Year”, “Customer Care” and “Front of House Team of the Year”. Sean is also finalised for Creative Head Magazine’s “Most Wanted” awards for “Most Wanted Hair Trend”, and Leah Walton, who is the current Clothes Show Live Young Hairdresser of the Year, is finalised for the “IT Girl” title in the same awards.

Sean added “Last year was an amazing year for The Colour Room, where it seemed everything we touched turned to gold. It’s hard to imagine, but 2012 could be even better for us – it’s a very exciting time, and the whole team deserve their success. As a local independent business owner, I am really blessed to have such a talented and enthusiastic team, as well as clients who support us every step of the way, and it is a real honour to play my part in putting Stockport on the map as a centre for exceptional business achievement.”

The awards ceremony season kicks off for The Colour Room team in September, with the finals of the Most Wanted Awards and the British Hairdressing Business Awards taking place in London on the 3rd and 11th September respectively. Sean will have to wait a little longer to find out if he has retained his British Hairdressing Awards title at the equivalent of the hairdressing world’s “Oscars” at the at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 26th November.
